Covid 02 - Stefano di Loreto
\nShut up in his studio during the long lockdown, the artist gave vent to my anger and suffering over the unfolding global tragedy, and to the desire to express myself and speak to humanity through his art, which is now more vital than ever. Thus was born the work "Covid." The canvas realistically depicts a giant virus that begins to shatter, break, and lose the typical compactness of its circular, spiderweb-like structure: it is a now fragile virus that succumbs to the disruptive action of lashes of color, typical of "Conceptual Deconstruction," his pictorial style. The lashes of color striking the virus represent humanity's ultimate will to destroy it, to annihilate it as quickly as possible, to return to embracing one another, to live a happy life. The work should be considered a "sign" for future generations, so that they will not forget this torn contemporaneity!
